Meet our Expert Janes!
Mommy Jane
|
As co-founder of Be Jane, Heidi Baker serves as the company's Mommy Jane, always on the lookout for any family-focused tips and tricks that can make a mom's life more efficient around the home. Heidi's passion for do-it-yourself empowerment began when she bought her first home, a sad shack in desperate need of TLC. Determined to save money by challenging herself to become her own handyman and contractor, Heidi learned by doing, and later sold her fixer-upper as the most expensive house in the neighborhood. Referred to by friends as a "Jane of All Trades," Heidi now applies that slogan to any woman who isn't afraid to tackle a home improvement project on her own. She's excited to show moms how a little DIY savviness can open up cool new possibilities for their families and homes. |
Crafty Jane
Tracy Metro is Be Jane's Crafty Jane, sharing groovy ideas for turning ordinary objects into spectacular creations. Metro, a pro with most household power tools, is the host of "Skil Shop," the how-to TV show that's teaching everyday people to build all sorts of fun things. She's also a green queen who was eco-chic before "eco" and "chic" were even hyphenated. An avid re-user and a practical-environmentalist, Metro believes one small change really can impact the world… and touts it while profiling eco-products as the host of Discovery's new show, "Green Gadgets."
Tracy's snappy repartee can also be seen as she hosts Disney's "In The Credits," "Fan On the Street," or co-hosting Mark Burnett's "Gold Rush," and reporting for Fine Living's "American Shopper." Tracy and her husband started UsedCardboardBoxes.com, which was recently voted one of America's Top 10 best green companies of 2007 by Coop America.
Social Style Jane
Allana Baroni, Be Jane’s Social Style Jane, helps our Janes imprint their worlds with humor, grace and soul. Reknown as a "social specialist," Allana is an author, spokesperson, television personality and special events producer. For Allana, a social life is about making connections that stick and relationships that flourish. While it isn't a science, confidence in social situations can be learned and practiced, in a way that flows naturally into your life. Each event - each party, holiday, dinner, lunch, chance encounter - is an opportunity to make epic memories, an opportunity to be a great host, a great guest and a loving giver, to establish new traditions, and leave heirlooms that make the good times last forever. Allana helps spread her social wisdom with recurring appearances on "The Oprah Winfrey Show,” “Live With Regis & Kelly,” "The Today Show," “CNN,” “Access Hollywood,” “Extra,” and Lifetime Television’s "Our Home." She was also a part of Oprah’s “Fab 3” team of contributors to the 2003 holiday gift giving shows and is a regular contributor to USA Today Weekend Edition.
