I have rebuilt/restored an old, 1945 home situated on a lake in mid-New York state. The house was built from timbers and arts & craft woodwork from an old mansion in Purdys, NY that was built around 1868. The home was to be flooded when the reservoirs were established in Westchester County to supply New York City's water. Four small houses, like mine, and two larger homes in Somers, NY were built, from the beautiful home of Anne Beason Purdys. I have done much of the work myself, hiring only sheetrockers, plumbers and electricians along the way. They are all amazed at what I, 68 years and 118 lbs have accomplished! Onward-DIY women!!!
