Removing shellac-intricate staircase
"Our home is about 35 years old. Previous owners really did a
number on the open hardwood staircase. I think it is pine, but
who would know the way it looks. I think the stain is 'ebony'
in color...very, very dark brown. We need to refinish it
because they slathered it with shellac. You can see the underside
