Overnight Paint Brush Trick

Found this great tip in a comment on another part of the Be Jane site, thought it needed highlighting in the forum.

I learned this one while painting the church. It was a big job with lots of hands. When we finished for the day we each put our brushes into sealable lunch or gallon size bags without washing them. I gathered them all up and put them in the freezer. The next morning all we had to do was to let them thaw out for 20 minutes (the perfect amount of time to grab a coffee and look at the work from the day before) and the brushes were ready to use.
It saves cleaning up and the danger of water logged or wet brushes the next day.
When the project was finished I kept a few in the church freezer for touch ups for the the knicks and dings of every day living.
The freezer trick works for about 1 year... after that, even the frozen paint starts to dry out when thawed.

This was a great idea....especially if you need to hold the brushes for more than overnight. I've found the sealable bags work just fine without the freezer for about a day or 2

This is a real time saver! You can also put your paint pan in the frig or freezer for use the next day.

I have done the same thing with my large paint roller - put a gallon size bag over it and put it in the freezer. Takes up a little room but nothing serious and usually am going right back to it the next day.

Overnight Paint Roller Trick

Another thing that works is plastic wrap. I use the plastic wrap to remove the roller cover from the roller frame. It saves getting paint all over my hands. I then take a large piece of plastic wrap and set the roller cover in the center and "wrap" the plastic wrap around the roller cover. You can see the color of the paint and it takes up a small space in your freezer!
