Staining Concrete

We have 6 month old concrete poured in a could be really great sunroom in our home. 25' x 25'. The contractor didn't do what we had hoped for. It is poorly stamped and not colored. How can we finish it ourself? Thinking of either acid stain or sponge technique with a high-shine sealer. I guess the question is...Do you use the same application for concrete as you would use on unfinished wood? Just found your site. Looks Great!!!!

Try DCsurfaces Acid Stain Overlay Kit for acid staining. You can find it at DCsurfaces.com. The overlay will fill in all the low spots were the concrete was stamped and level the sunroom floor before you acid stain. You can also get the acid stain and other tools from the website. The overlay kit comes with very detailed, but easy to follow instructions and the staff is there to answer and questions, via phone or e-mail. On the website, you can view before and after photos.

DIYers, check out www.DCsurfaces.com! Products include: concrete countertops, acid stain, concrete resurfacing and more...

Acid concrete staining not my favorite

When we stained the concrete driveway with another Jane who wanted to see what kind of a difference it could make to the front of her house we chose not to use an acid based stain. The reason why is it is much more caustic (careful if you have children) and if you are working around your grass, cover it up because the acid will kill it.

Here's a few pics of what we did (we also painted the garage door to look like wood):
