painting a nursery for a newborn to share with its 5 year old sister

We are expecting a baby (sex unknown) in April and I'm trying to come up with a color scheme that will not be too gender specific. So far I've pictured either a lavendar (gray tones) and green (sage-is) or a green and orange (pink tones). My daughter does not want yellow (but would love PINK!). My second issue is the shape of the room and deciding what wall(s) to paint what color. The shape is rectangle but on the north wall there is an eve, and on the east wall there is a built in closet that is apart of the room's esthetic along with housing the door to get into the room. The south wall is floor to ceiling, while the west wall houses the window and is odd shaped due to the eve of the north wall. As it stands right now I'm leaning more towards painting the west wall an accent color. The problem is when I picture it in my head with all the varying angles, I see too much of one or the other colors (depending on which I choose for the accent). My question is should I paint more than just one wall an accent color or should I stick to the one wall (west) that is seen first when walking into the room. Also. The woodwork is natural and the floors are hardwood.

I like the sound of the green and orange, especially if you want it to be gender neutral. It also sounds like the west wall will be a good accent wall. I imagine with all the furniture and toys and toy boxes, etc. that the kids will have in their room, there won't be too much of the main color.

I'm interested in seeing before and after pictures. Be sure to post them!
