Porch Light -- Blown

I was replacing the switches that control my porch light. I readily admit that I was too tired and should have quit at least an hour earlier.... HOWEVER... I had pulled out the brown switch and had started detaching when I looked upward and thought, "I don't think that kitchen light should be on." It was an amazing moment of revelation and sparks. I have tried replacing the switch with a new one--safely this time--but to no avail. Tried new bulb... tried everything I could think as I am on an extremely limited budget. Will all of the wiring to the porch light have to be replaced?

Check your circuit breakers

Check your circuit breakers (or fuses). You probably tripped the one for this circuit. That is the reason they are there. In the future, you may want to shut off the circuit breaker for the circuit you'll be working on, prior to working on it. This should be an easy fix.
