need more closet space

I have very small closets in my slanted roof of my cape with narrow doors. I need ideas on how to make larger and also to open up the access area. Any ideas?

Do you have any pictures? It might be easier to think of solutions to help you out. The only thing I can think of right now is to remove the doors, cut the opening to the ceiling and walls, and add a curtain or leave open with pretty shelves.

I am in the process of remodeling my daughter's house while she is serving our country in Iraq. Her closet is 4' x 5'. I removed her old closet shelves, rods and hardware. I bought the Closet Maid shelving and rod system. I am putting double rods and shelves on the long wall; a single shelf and rod on one of the short walls; and shelves on the opposite short wall. Adding the double rods will give her more room for hanging short items like tops, blouses, skirts, and pants. The single rod area will allow her to hang longer items. The Closet Maid system has corner shelves that will make the shelving to be a continuous flow from one short wall to the long wall and ending with the other short wall. I removed the door on her closet since it is off of the vanity area and she has folding doors into the closet/vanity/bath area.
