Getting rid of oil from wood is a fairly difficult process due to the fact that it tends to soak itself up into the wood. You may very well have to sand it down to see if you can get below where the oil is at though I am concerned considering it has a color to it. I would also reccomend your thinking about painting a design on your floor to cover this area but still allow the wood to show through.

I sanded my floors and began staining. Oil stains that were not visible after the sanding phase appeared after staining. I am going to resand but i need to know if anyone has any suggestions of pulling up the oil from the wood before restaining. I am going to use a much lighter stain but i want the oil pulled first.
