Topic: How can I "fog" a new bathroom window so it is opaque?
Some options: 1) Replace Reb writes: Mon, 06/25/2007 - 12:57pm
Some options:
1) Replace the glass. (call a glass person)
2) Apply a window film (see http://www.glassdecorandmore.com/ or http://www.decorativefilm.com/)
3) Etch the glass chemically (you can find etching solution at any comprehensive hardware store or art/craft store. example: http://www.misterart.com/store/browse/003/cat_id/232/Craft-Supplies-Glass-Tile-Art--Glass-Etching.htm)

I have a window IN my shower! I applied window film from Home Depot. It is vinyl and it is applied with slightly soapy water and a squeegy that comes with it. It was very easy, it looks like stained glass. Although, my first try, by evening time, I could see air bubbles. It was easily fixed by peeling it back, rewetting it, and then smoothing again.
Here is a photo, I hope it shows up. Also, it was very easy to cut to fit. I have been to the website that makes this film and they have many to choose, even a frosted one if you prefer no pattern. I can't remember the website name but I will search and then post it. It's a great website that has nice ideas.

Here is the website, if interested. http://www.lighteffects.com/index.php
They have some nice photos and how to apply it. Mine has been up for a couple of months, at least. No lifting or peeling. If you click on the "corporate" link it will have another website called artscapes that have more photos and ideas.
