Vinyl tile - bathroom floor

I need new bathroom floors and am considering vinyl tiles. Two questions: 1) Is this a good type of flooring for bathrooms, with the potential for water on the floor and all those little seams? 2) My current bathroom floor is sheet vinyl. I think it is glued at the edges only, and has plywood subflooring underneath. Is it ok to remove the vinyl, prepare the plywood, and attach the tiles directly, or does it need to have underlayment of some sort? Thanks for any advice! Betsy

I am planning to use peel&stick vinyl tile for my new kitchen floor. I know that with the type I am using that it says I should use a primer on the plywood underlayment to get good adhesion. Some on another forum (www.doityourself.com) have recommended using a little Liquid Nails as well. Anyway, I don't know about a bathroom floor. If you get any water wiped up quickly, no floor will be a problem, but I know with me----I'm not SUSIE HOMEMAKER and sometimes those puddles don't get wiped up right away. Sheet Vinyl would be better for me, for sure!!
