I have a quick question. I’m finishing my basement and I have installed 6 recessed lights and I’m going to use a dimmer switch. I used 12/2 gauge wire. The 12/2 g has a black , a white and a bare ground, but my dimmer switch has a black, red and ground wire. Now I know that ground goes to ground and the black should go to black, but where does the red come in? How would I hook these wires up? Thanks for any help.
