Dying Bedford Stone (limestone)

Has ANYONE ever seen this process of dying bedford stone? The exterior of my home is 100% bedford stone other than the roof and, doors and shutters as is about half of this neighborhoods' homes. The other half is standard red brick. I'd like to "stand out in the crowd" so to speak and saw a site about actually dying the stone. I requested additional info months ago and have yet to receive anything. I'd appreciate any input from anyone that may have seen or actually done this process. Looking forward to hearing from you. cj

If you're still looking to

If you're still looking to do this project, you are looking for a mineral silicate paint or stain. you can order this through a concrete and stone masonry supply store. there are paint versions and stain versions. stains will only give the stone a more uniform color, but won't "change" the color. paints can give a more dramatic look. both are very natural, they don't look like house paint. these colorants actually react with the limestone to look totally natural and unpainted. and they last forever. good luck.
