How do you add some greenery to a tiny apartment ?

I want to garden but I live in a small apartment. Any ideas to help make my apartment green? I found an article on www.savvymiss.com: http://www.savvymiss.com/living/do-it-yourself-projects/do-it-yourself-projects-archive/article/how-to-container-garden-76.html but I would still like to hear more ideas. Thanks!

We live in a good sized home on over two acres of land and I still prefer cantainer gargening. Last year I did all sorts of flowers and varigated greenery. This year it's strictly organic vegtables. I had fun by starting with a large container then stacking progressively smaller containers (just one or two) on top as shown in the pictures I've added. If you have a wood railing or some way to attach long planters to the one you have I added pictures of our back deck railing and the planters we attached to the rails.

The one on the left has just two pots

on back deck

planters on front porch

planters added to back deck railing

I used to live in NYC and tried my best to grow plants but i kept making the big mistake that will kill any houseplant--overwatering. now i live in California and i can grow anything inside or outside my house. i particularly enjoy growing cactus but could never so that on the east coast. generally speaking, i have found that philodendrons are the easiest plants to grow in any climate. good luck!
