I have a corded drill. It has one speed: super fast. Also the head is rather fat, making it hard to drill in tight corners or small spaces. I hate it. I'd really like to get a cordless drill with variable speeds, but I have no idea where to start. Any suggestions? I've seen "recommended tools" articles on BeJane, but none have a drill-of-choice! What gives? A related question: My inherited drill has an entire case of drill bits of varying sizes each made out several different materials. What are they each for? I'm too embarrassed to go ask the guy at the hardware store.
