I am redoing a basement with slightly low ceilings, but wanted to go ahead and put a small width crown molding on the walls anyway. I am having trouble finding crown molding not very wide, and have thought of using a pretty 3-d rope chair rail instead. Has anyone ever dne this, and is it an incredible faux pax to do so? I realize that the chair rail doesnt have the 45 degree angle feature. What do you think?
