Old Glue on Wood Walls

We have beautiful tongue and groove wood walls in our 1929 house. Some creative person glued linoleum to the kitchen walls over the counters in the 70's. We have been remodeling and want to remove the glue behind the linoleum without ruining the wood walls. Any ideas? It is thick and I was thinking about trying a palm sander but don't know if that will ruin the wood's appearance.

have you tried a heat gun & putty knife? most of the glue will scrape right off. What's left you will need to sand. Be sure to use a random orbit sander so as not to leave swirl marks on your walls. Just be sure to go lightly. You'll need to refinish them anyway as the glue was certain to have ruined the original finish. Enjoy!!!
