I have textured cielings---the kind applied with plaster. Some of it is peeling off, and there are some cracks from the house settling, plus it is yellowed with age and cigarettes from previous owners. To make it worse, it is in the stairway. My home is 1910 farmhouse and I want an "old timey" finish to go with the floral wallpaper walls I am planning. What ideas would be easier and not too expensive for me to do myself to get a nice new finish?? thanks a million, Susie
