Baseboard and window trim

I hope some one can help me. I have anolder house that have plaster walls. The trim is pulling away from the windows and there is a gap around some of the baseboards. Without having to take all of the woodwork off and starting over is there any way to fix this problem?I have thought about using caulking, but am not sure that would work. Does any one have any ideas? Toni

Toni, yes you may use caulking on your trim provided it's "paint grade" First I'd try to get them to hug the wall as best as posible using some finish nails. They'll start in the plaster hard but once you penetrate the hard surface (usually 1/8" thick) they'll drive right in. You may want to try spackel to but typicaly a laytex caulk is used to hide the seam. It accepts paint & comes in a wide variety of colors as well. Enjoy!!!
