Home dance studio

Hello again! As my first project of "Janehood," I will be painting and redecorating my children's bedrooms. My 8 year old daughter is a budding dancer, so I thought it would be fun to have a mirrored wall and ballet barre in her room. (Maybe I could brush up on my dormant skills too!) But this has raised a few questions: #1- I need to attach the barre to the wall, but can you drill through glass? I would hate to shatter a plate glass mirror! If this is something that is not recommended, does anyone have an alternative idea?--#2- I wanted to make a portable/non-permanent dance floor out of hardwood or laminate wood. Can I put that right on top of the carpet, or should I make a "subfloor" with plywood? Any ideas will be greatly appreciated! I will post before and after pics when everything is done. Happy day to all!!~Lydia
