Tips needed for hanging pictures

I would like to hang framed pictures on the walls in our upstairs, but the upper half of the walls are slanted inward toward the ceiling, following the roofline. (Is that called gabled?) I've seen it done in magazines, so I know it is possible, but I just don't know how to do it. Can anyone tell me how to hang pictures flush on an angled wall? Thanks and happy day!

The easiest way to do this and guarantee that you won't constantly be dealing with it is to screw through the frame into the wall top and bottom. Then fill the holes with putty, sand it smooth and touch them up. This way you won't have to worry about them coming loose or shifting. Just make sure the are exactly the way you want them before starting.

Another posibility would be to use 3M Command velcro type strips. Just make sure you get ones that are made to hold the weight of the item you are hanging or you and guests may wind up with bad headaches.
