scratched tiles- please advise!

Hello, we just moved last week and scratched some tiles in the foyer. Does anyone know of a special cleaner, these are black/gray scratches on beige 12 X 12 ceramic tiles. We are renting and don't want to lose our security deposit and would like to take care of it right away. Thanks!

WD-40

I know it may sound crazy but WD-40 gets out so many things you would be shocked. Try using some on it with a scratch-less sponge and see what happens.

I almost forgot, make sure you've got good ventilation when using it because you really don't want to inhale the fumes!

WD-40

If you use something like WD-40, make sure you spray it on a cloth and wipe on the tile where the scratch is, or if you're going to try to spray it on the tile directly, protect the grout. If this is a rental, there is no way of telling when or if the grout has been sealed, although even with a good sealer I'd still be inclined to protect the adjacent grout - cheap insurance. You say the scratches are black/gray on beige tiles. What appears to be a scratch may just be a deposite left by what ever was dragged or pushed across the tiles, in which case the WD-40 may very well clean them off. I'd love to hear how it turns out. Mr Clean Magic Erasers

These things are great. Something similiar recently happened to us. We had replaced the flooring in our bathrooms with Duraceramic tiles. The contractor that did some other work in our house "scuffed" the new tiles. The erasers easily removed the scuffs, but I did have a couple of places where the tiles were actually scratched and it did not "erase" the scratches. This also works on regular ceramic tile.
