I own a home which is an upper/lower apartment. There is only one gas furnace that heats both apartments, with the single thermostat in my(the lower)apartment. Not only does my tenant want the apartment warmer than I would like it, especially at night, but finacially i am eating it! I am wondering if it would be cost effective and relatively simple to close off the furnace ducts to the upstairs apartment and add electric baseboard heaters, rather than purchaing a seperate furnace and adding a gas line to the upstairs. Or is there another, better way that i haven't thought of? any ideas? Thanks
