I was distressed to see an article on the top 10 painting mistakes, with no mention of failure to test for lead-based paint. I used to be a State hazardous waste inspector, and I've been teaching environmental safety & health for 17 years. The #1 cause of the average person getting lead-poisoned is DIY types dry-scraping paint. Anyone with questions on lead, asbestos, or other household hazards can e-mail me.
