Has anyone ever used cultured stone? I'm intrigued by it and I'd like to build some footings around the posts of my pergola and perhaps use it for a new mantle design inside the house. From what I can see it looks like you have to attach it to metal lathing using a stucco (portland cement) mortar, but I'm not sure what goes under the lathing. Are there any good DIY books on the topic?
