Replacing a ceiling fan on a dimmer switch to a chain link chandelier. Ceiling(3blk, 3wht) Light(1 ridged, 1smooth)

OK, I took off a ceiling fan and didn't write down the exact position of the wires and have spent several days regretting it. Here's The Setup: (each set has 1 black and 1 white wire, ignoring all grounds) set of wires that is the power, set of wires that leads to other light fixture, set of wires that I'm sure goes to the dimmer switch. The set of wires on the chandelier is one smooth wire and one ridged. I've read the post "Replacing a ceiling fan on a dimmer switch to a regular light fixture and a regular light switch" and this is incredibly similar to my situation and I wired it as it said but I still must be doing something wrong. I Have the 3 blk wires all together and 2 wht wires with the smooth wire together and the ridged wire connected to the other wht wire going to the dimmer switch and I know this sounds wrong. Any help would be appreciated and liberating.
