Painting and decorating my grandson's bedroom

My grandson's bedroom is 16'x13'. It has two windows on one of the short walls and opposite that (at the other end of the room) is has a closet at the corner that extends out approx. 3-1/2' in a half-octagon shape using part of the long wall and part of the short wall. The 2 doors in the room are on the wall opposite the closet. One door goes into the hall while the other (about 5' down from that) goes into his bathroom. His decor is Asian in gold, black and reds. I have purchased the paint I want to use (Cinnamon Apple which is a deep burnt red as the accent) and Cider Toddy which is a medium flesh color that I will use on the other walls. My problem is which wall to paint as the accent wall or walls. I have heard that painting a long wall will make the room look more closed in, and since the room is already fairly cut up with the doors and closet, I don't want it to look "tight." Does anyone have any suggestions?? PLEASE!!!!

closet 2 from other end of room
