Scoring & cutting a paving slab by hand

Help!!! I want to extend my patio with paving slabs but don't know how my deceased husband scored and cut the original slabs he put in place. Can anyone offer me some advice on what tools I would need to cut and score the slabs by hand.........I can't afford to go buy expensive tool.

Tool to use

We used a grinder with a masonry diamond blade to cut our pavers. The diamond blade is kind of expensive-about $100-but it lasts for a long time. Depending on the size of the paving slabs you are using, you can rent a wet block saw from a home improvement store or tool rental business. That may be a little easier to use. It's like a table saw for concrete. Good luck with your project!
