Hi folks, I am trying to build a platform bed for kind size tempurpedic mattress. It is approximately 8 inches thick and the standard king size dimensions of 76 × 80 in. I am looking for something simple - no need for a footboard or headboard. Just a simple modern-looking platform. If there was a second set of directions to build drawers for it that would be nice but I am more interested in getting my mattress up off the floor as soon as possible. The total weight it would need to hold would be between 500 - 700 lbs. Any type of wood would be fine as my hubby works at Lowes so we choose whatever we like. He knows a bit about building but I was thinking it would be nice if he had a set of instructions that we could just follow as he doesnt have much free time as it is to figure out all the necessary items needed for this project.
