Thank you for the input. I have penciled it out and thought it would look fine.
I am laying terra-cotta colored tiles, thought I would use some grout in the dark tan tones, haven't decided on that yet. Ecru? type of color.

If this is for a kitchen or bathroom, make sure that the tiles are glazed, so stains won't be absorbed into the clay. You may want to mix some grout and put it between two uninstalled tiles and let it dry, so you can see what the final look will be, before doing the whole room.

This is for the livingroom, I have laid out 1 box of tiles just to make sure that I do like the color, etc. Which I do.
I have found 3/16" spacers....thought that may be a problem but found them pretty quickly.
Yes, tiles are glazed. Good point.
Thank you.
What is your subsurface? Is caring1 writes: Fri, 01/11/2008 - 8:55am
What is your subsurface? Is it level? You can use a self-leveling thinset to get a level surface or use backer board that has thinset below, to fill the gaps. Another suggestion to reduce the likelihood of cracks between the tiles is that once you have a level surface, buy some inexpensive vinyl flooring and installing it upside down. After that is down (moisture barrier & resistance to movement), you can apply your thinset and install your tiles. The larger the tile you install, the more important it is to make sure that you are installing on a level surface.
