Sealing your garage Floor

I have two dogs, one of which seems to like peeing and pooping in the garage even though she is able to go outside. I was thinking that I could remove everything in the garage and power wash it, and then hopefully seal it. My problem is the pee is staining the garage floor and really making it smell. We have to bleach the floor at least 3 times a week to get the smell out. Can I stain the garage floor? What should I use? Will it be harmful to my pets? And will it help in the odor from the pee? And how do I go about doing it?

yes you can stain a concrete floor. Infact there are professional concrete stains made just for that. It's a muratic acid stain & it comes in a wide variety of colors. pick one that you like :) your local mason supply store should have a color chart you can look at. There are also a wide variety of sealers for concrete. if you stain it you'll have to neutralize the acid first. use baking soda & water. Thompsons water seal is probably the cheapest way to do it. but there are once again a wide variety of sealers and your mason's supply should cary quite a few of them. just remember that you'll have to reapply the sealer every year or so as it will wear off. Luck with it :)
