The forbidden tower...aka the loft

Hello BeJane, Recently I moved in to my very first home, and realized that I was missing something very important, a storage closet. It seems that this particular floor plan lost this feature when it was on the third floor. So, the only space I have is triangular space below the stairs and the second floor loft. As a result, every time I need to get something, it looks like a tornado went through the place - items become scattered across the dining table and floor. After moving in, I thought I could figure things out, but I’ve become soo disorganized that I don't even know where to start. Papers are stored in boxes, holiday decorations are scattered, and I’ve been struggling to figure out a way to balance space for when my daughter, who is 6, comes to visit me. So her cloths, toys and bed tend to migrate from the loft to a guest bedroom that doubles as my boyfriend’s massage studio. The space isn’t very large, it can only be one or the other, and things tend to scatter through the condo during migration which happens 4 times a year (which equals out to be about 3 to 4 months out of the year and once I clean things up, it's time to migrate) After seeing a few videos on the website, I was inspired to build a wall bed unit for when my daughter visits, but became completely frustrated with the process. While painting the cabinet grade ply-wood that was recommended at the store; the wood bowed, pealed, and bubbled. Somehow I got the things temporally together though the pieces I had cut were incorrect and with my inexperience I've just about given up on the idea as the project starts to look like imitation Swiss cheese. With space being so limited, I feel so overwhelmed with the clutter and the loft has jokingly become the forbidden tower. I feel that if I could get some type of help, I could really get my first home to feel like a home. Please help. Sincerely, Lisa Wachowicz PS. My daughter is currently visiting for spring break, so items are in the guest bedroom and along the way, so the loft is looking its best right now. Imagine a bed and more tubs packed into this space. ;)

I have AADD! I can't seem to focus on any one thing long enough to finish it!. This is further complicated by the fact that I am working 2 jobs (One a night job) AND trying to do 2 home based businesses. THIS mess is my Home office/guest room/DUMPING ground! Do you think I can find ANYTHING on this desk??? I create great systems and never use them. I can think up great ways to organize but I get so overwhelmed by the volume of STUFF that I just close the door and leave the room.
