My favorite project to date lasted for many years. My Granddad always had my sisters and I working on some project at our lake cabin to help the next summer more comfortable. Fixing the dock, staining the deck, logging the deadfall... even built a bridge one year to shorten the walk down to the waterside. He didn't have any grandsons, so it was us girls helping him. He was always grumbling about that and the neighbors would laugh, (I was the eldest and they laughed up until I was 12). They quit laughing after we came and logged out several trees that were about to destroy their place after a major ice storm... and Granddad came down asking where we were. I was 12 and waved at him from up the hill, chainsaw still running. I still have never seen him laugh so hard! I am now married, and my husband purchased a house a year and half before we tied the knot. This house is 104 years old, and man, does this place need some love! I am just grinning to think about it. However, I am accustomed to blunt force work, staining, chainsaws, etc... I really don't know much else. That's why I'm here!

However, some of my windows seem to be in need of some serious love. The windows slide up from the bottom and the glass is fine. The problem lies on the outside. The previous owners had very nice siding put on, but us..."
