Topic: Patching an uneven gap

I'd like to patch the a large crack in my sidewalk. However, the gap is deep in some areas (3 inches) and very shallow in others (1/2 inch and less). I know I should have gravel in the mix for deep repairs.
So, for this, do I mix two batches of concrete at the same time, and plop the with-gravel mix in and layer the no-gravel mix on top of it?

Hello. I am new here. I am just looking for some peace and quiet and I found this website.
I live in an apartment (which I hate) with my 15 year old son. We live downstairs. Someone new has moved in right above us with two little kids and they are so noisy I can't stand it. They constantly jump, run, bang, slam, ect ... I notice my ceiling fan and light fixtures wobbling from time to time. I am disabled with daily pain and etc. I have a headache everyday due to this noise and my son suffers from migranes.
I have spoken to her and she wasn't very nice. I then went to the office several times and speak to the manager yesterday. I don't know if she will do anything or not. I finally have had it today (after the noise got worse last night) and called the person above the manager. I have not heard back yet. Isn't a home supposed to be where you are happy?

Topic: staining laminate cabinets

staining laminate cabinets
I have removed the old paint and primer off my laminate kitchen cabinets. I have a beautiful red oak Pergo floor, so I do not want to paint the cabinets. I want to stain them. Now from a test I did , I lightly sanded the laminate cabinet door. Then I put a red oak stain on it and it seems to be taking it. Over time I am not sure if this will all wear off from cleaning, wiping the cabinets. Will some type of polyurathaine ( I know I spelled that wrong) or a sealer work and stick to the stained laminate? The stained color I have acheived is perfect? Can anyone help? or has actully done this?

Ihave been a smoker for a number of years. About a year ago, I quit. Now my wood coffe table and end tables have a coat of nicotene on them. Furniture polish won't remove it (really makes it worse) so is there any remedy for that other than buying new ones?

Topic: Lights will not turn off!

Lights will not turn off!
I've been upgrading my outlets and light switches. Everything was going fine until yesterday. I replaced the outlet and light switch in my guest bathroom, and 3 electrical outlets in the living room. When I turned the circuit breaker back on the check my work, I noticed that the living room lights came on. I figured I had accidently left them on, so I went to turn them off, but they would not go off! They are permanently on. They were working fine until yesterday. What could have happened?
Any ideas? Any suggestions?
