Tub/Shower Walls

We are adding a bathroom into our new home and we have a delima. My husband wants to put a plastic pre-fab wall preferably a one piece tub/wall unit. I want to put tile. I hate the plastic walls we cant really afford the tile is there another option?

You could try tiling it yourself. The most expensive part of tiling is always the labor. That might save you enough to be able to tile and if you go to some stores, you might be able to get a tile that is discontinued and they no longer will carry it so they might give it to you at a discounted price.

Yes it sounds kinda yuck, but you can buy nice ones. You also can stencil some nice things around the top of the tile. Also it is cheaper then real tile. You also can look at your hard ware store for discontinued tile, mix and match. Laurie

There are hundred types of wainscoting that are non-wood and perfectly suitable for your project. Any trim work, whether real wood or not, is going to be painted - that eliminates the risk of water damage.

MDF wainscoting is your answer. It's durable and visually aesthetic on walls.
