Painting outside stucco surface by pool

I have primed and painted several coats of both, however the edge of the concrete wall is metal, and the rust bleeds through the paint. I used two different types of primer. Kilz and another brand which stated it was great for houses near the ocean or water. What type of primer and or paint would you recommend to use? Or do I need to have the stucco re-done thicker? Also, why does the paint bubble after 6 months and now I can peel it off?

You will want to sand the surface lightly to 'scuff' it up so your primer will grab. Use a tack cloth to pick up any dust particles left over from sanding then prime the surface. In my professional opinion, to get a smooth finish is by painting your table with a spray gun. If this isn't an option, you might consider using spray paint in a can. Follow the directions and spray on several light coats, allowing each coat to dry completely. Don't spray too close to the surface and don't put on too much paint because you will get runs and sags. There is a plastic gripper handle you can buy for a couple of dollars that fits over a spray can. This is a neat little tool because it keeps your 'trigger' finger from getting fatiqued when you spray. It snaps on the top of the can. Good luck!

Stucco repair

We have (had) a decorative concrete wall that was butted up against a supporting pillar to our front porch/entry walk. The wall was pulling away from the pillar and we have now removed the portion of the decorative wall that was attached to the supporting pillar. We are about to have the exterior of the house painted and we now have to patch the portion of the pillar where the wall had been attached to the pillar. What is the best way to patch and repair the exterior stucco and have it be as un-noticable as possible before the painting is done?
