Welcome to Fuse Central

OK, OK, we're not sure if there's really enough of you out there with questions, comments, or tips about dealing with fuses to warrant an entire forum, but hey, we could be wrong. Got a question? Fear? Looking for resources? This is the place to express yourself.

Fuses...get rid of them.

Fuses...get rid of them. The only place they belong in a home are for protecting motors, like at the furnace. If you have a fused panel, consider an upgrade. Most insurance companies will want this changed before they will insure a house. The problem is overloading, people over the years just add more and more to each circuit and then when the breaker blows they just put in a large one, which can cause all kinds of problems.

Find a qualified electrician in your area and have him/her install a breaker panel. It's a big job for a DIY job
