Redoing a floor

HI All,
I have an ancient parquet floor. I love it, but it really needs some work - can someone advise me on this? The parquet pieces have separated, the wood is very scratched and since I'm on the first floor the floor has settled and is uneven in some places. Should I rip it up and start over and if so - how much is that going to put me in the hole? Any other solutions? I'd really appreciate your input!

orange-it all depends on the size of the space you're talking about. I would suggest ripping it out and putting in hardwoods-which are good for resale value and very easy maintenance. It will cost you most likely 3-7 K for a medium to large sized space-but it really does vary. Take the measurements and go from there-would also suggest going to home depot to see what they suggest.

Yeah - great idea. I have about 750 sq.ft or less that I need to worry about...
