I'd like to patch the a large crack in my sidewalk. However, the gap is deep in some areas (3 inches) and very shallow in others (1/2 inch and less). I know I should have gravel in the mix for deep repairs.

So, for this, do I mix two batches of concrete at the same time, and plop the with-gravel mix in and layer the no-gravel mix on top of it?
