I hate my home

Hello. I am new here. I am just looking for some peace and quiet and I found this website.

I live in an apartment (which I hate) with my 15 year old son. We live downstairs. Someone new has moved in right above us with two little kids and they are so noisy I can't stand it. They constantly jump, run, bang, slam, ect ... I notice my ceiling fan and light fixtures wobbling from time to time. I am disabled with daily pain and etc. I have a headache everyday due to this noise and my son suffers from migranes.

I have spoken to her and she wasn't very nice. I then went to the office several times and speak to the manager yesterday. I don't know if she will do anything or not. I finally have had it today (after the noise got worse last night) and called the person above the manager. I have not heard back yet. Isn't a home supposed to be where you are happy?

I didn't have any problems with neighbors before this person moved in. I just want to get rid of this pain in my head! Did I do the right thing by contacting this person? Please someone give me some advice on this. I feel like I am trapped in hell.

Trish,

I am so sorry to hear you are going through such a terrible time with your neighbors. I can empathize with you as my family and I just moved away from a similar situation.

The best piece of advice I can offer that we chose to do was to get a small heater that also had a fan mode to it and we turned it on in our daughter's room everytime she went to sleep. We also had one in our bedroom as well.

Otherwise, and I feel like this is a force greater than the two of us telling you this, maybe it's time to move. That was what we chose to do in the end and if you really hate where you are living now, maybe this is just the "Universe" telling you it's time to make some changes to make you happier than you are right now. In the end we found it was the best choice we could have made even though it wasn't easy to do for either of us.

I hope this helps and you are feeling better.

Hug 'n hammers,

Heidi
