Kitchen re-do

I have been considering for a LONG time to refinish my kitchen cabinets; they are oak and plenitful. I am wanting to paint them a rich cream. I also have vinyl wood flooring in the same oak color,only 1 window so my kitchen is pretty dark. All my appliances are black; and I have a thing about roosters! I thought maybe I could go French country when the cabinets are cream but need some ideas other than a toile fabric valance over my window and a corner lamp that's cream and I have foo-fooed up with black fringe and beads (turned out pretty darn cute). Can't put up a rack for pots because there's no place to hang it. Any ideas anyone has to help me go French county would be really appreciated..........

You've got a lot of the element nailed down. I think you just need more details. Can you do a pot rack on a wall, say near the range or in another accessible spot? I know a lot of French country shows bold colors, like yellow and blue. Does those fit with your cream? Would white cabinets work for you? thanks so much for the reply - I was beginning to think no one was out there. I really like the idea of a pot rack - but I am wall to wall cabinets; which limits what I can do a GREAT DEAL. I have a microwave over the range so there goes that area. They really have some gorgeous racks that I would love to have, but - I looked at the web site you gave me and would kill for that kitchen!!! If you have any more inspirations, please forward them - I appreciate the input
