Hi, Janes--
I have a strange shower situation. For some reason, when the original tiles sere put in, the wall tiles did not go down completely to meet the floor tiles. There is not a huge gap, but the gap that is there just seems to swallow up grout.
This is the second time I have re-grouted the seams between the floor and the walls, and I am hoping that this time works. I chipped away all the original grout seams and added a thicker layer of grout to try and shore it up. I sealed the grout according to the directions on the sealer, and have been misting the new grout every few hours so that it doesn't dry too quickly.
The problem I am having now is that the new grout seems to be cracking a bit anyway as it dries. I even filled in a few of the cracks yesterday because they were getting fairly noticeable.
What am I doing wrong here? All I want is to get my shower to the point where I can use it without the grout melting and seeping through the gaps, but if I can't even get the grout to dry without cracking, is there any hope?
Thanks!
