Why is it that all of the necessary appliances to prepare a holiday meal always decide that the right time to stop working is around Thanksgiving and Christmas?!?!

One year I made yams and made the huge mistake of putting the skins in the disposal with hot water running. Let's just say it was like pouring glue down my sink, stopping everything right up! Then another year one of my double ovens decided to stop working just as I had a turkey in one and several casseroles in the other. I was grateful to have more than one oven but dinner ended up being late and not half as good as I had hoped.

Well this year my fridge decided to defrost everything in the freezer and freeze everything in the refrigerator. UGH! Thank goodness it waited until the evening of December 25th!

So I started looking for a new refrigerator the very next morning (it might be something easy to fix but we've had this for over 8 years and it was just the excuse I needed to get a new one). My husband was fine with the idea just so long as I didn't take him into 20 different stores to find the right one. So I went online and found one that not only fit our kitchen but also fit our budget. (BTW, found this really great site that reviews refrigerators and doesn't try to sell you anything. www.RefrigeratorPro.com) I must sound like a dork but I can't wait to get my new, fingerprint free, stainless refrigerator. Now all I have to do is come up with a way to have my stove not work anymore!!! ;)
