When our 1956 house was remodeled in the mid 1980's, the owners chose to tile each window sill in the house with slightly textured beige ceramic tiles. Each tile is 12" long, 7" deep. They are 2" thick, including a 1" blunt edge overhang. These tiles are ugly and do nothing to preserve the design integrity of our Mid-Century Modern house. I'd like to either paint over them, or replace them with wood sills (stained to match the floor) or with stained concrete, resin/concrete.... depending on the characteristics of the room.
Thanks in advance for any suggestions or ideas.
