Knotty pine wood wall panel and hardwood floors

Hello everyone, I am pleased to be here on this board and I hope that I learn a lot of things from you all. First, I am proud to say that I recently became a 1st time homebuyer. The home is a 1957 brick ranch with lots of character and potential. The problem I am having is finding color that will bring out my living room and dining room. The walls are a knotty pine wood panel and the floors are hardwood (same color as the walls). I will be using light beige furniture in the living room with added color (not sure yet). The dining room is connected to the kitchen. I do not plan on painting the walls at this time. I would like to know what color would go well with the knotty pine wood panel and hardwood floors?

Hello Shay. I would be inclined to use an accent of a deep red or a green or a navy with the beige furniture. Some nice big throw cushions or even curtains that colour. I love the country look....not the country frilly look but a log cabin country look. These colours I believe would tone down the "all wood" look that you have right now. I would also break up the floor with an accent rug in those same colours. Do you have any log cabin show homes in your area. You could get ideas from visiting those as well. Hope this helps. ~~~***~~~~ "If you screw up...make sure it looks like it should have been that way in the first place!"
