Accent wall

Hi! I could use your help. My first house is being built and I'm trying to decide how I will decorate. I have several ideas, but I wouldn't call myself a great decorater so I'm not sure if my ideas make any sense! Here's where I'll start: my kitchen ideas (my favorite place).. I'm thinking chestnut stained cabinets, black "granite" countertop (mainly black, with swirls of tan and white), a pecan laminate floor (not sure about this... should floor be lighter or darker than cabinets?),stainless appliances, square counter-height table (brown top, black legs), black island with butcher block top, wrought iron accessories (chandelier, knobs, etc), Khaki walls with a Cranberry accent wall (or 2), maybe a rooster rug to bring it all together (not overdoing the whole rooster thing though). So, which wall should be the accent wall? Kitchen/Dining/Living Room all completely open. Kitchen/Dining is 24x11 and is the first thing you see when you walk up the stairs. The back long wall will have the sliding door, fridge, sink and window. Wall to your left will be where the table is. Wall to right is more cabinets and stove. Which should I paint Khaki and which Cranberry? Any and all tips are appreciated :o)

* I think lighter floors and darker cabinets look better. * Reconsider the stainless steel. It's really hard to clean. It fingerprints really easily. Our housecleaner actually charges extra for stainless appliances. She also bumps up the price for black; she said it's hard to make it be shiny. According to her, white and beige are both easy to clean. We're going all white. Given what else you have, either black or beige might be a better option. * Accent wall sounds nice. Consider that your backsplash/cabinets/window/fridge will take up a lot of wall space. You might just paint the entire thing cranberry. * Check into other countertops rather than the granite. I know a lot of people who are going for quartz instead. I'm still figuring out whether to replace ours, so I haven't done that much research on it yet. I've just heard good things about the quartz.
