Which wall should be painted the accent color

I have an oblong bedroon with french doors at the end of the room. I want to paint an accent wall a dark red color. Should this be one of the long walls, or the wall at the end of the room (with the french doors)?

Accent Wall Wonderment

You want the accent wall to be the one that people (or you) see when you go into the room. From your description it sounds like the wall with the french doors would be the one to paint. But... you have another option - you could also paint the wall that you put your bed against and that can be your accent wall. Think of how you want to use the room and where you want your eye drawn to, then you'll have your answer. Good luck!

See what I did with the wall in my foyer - the one to the left when you walk in.

If your room is really oblong and you want to make it feel more square shape, then painting the wall with the French doors with an accent color can draw it in and make the room seem less oblong. if you paint the longest wall with your accent color, you are emphasizing the shape. I have French doors in my bedroom and, for me, i want the attention drawn to them as they are the most interesting architectural feature in the room (not counting me, of course!)

Have you ever heard of the tempurpedic bed technology? That could solve many of your problems and very fast... Just check the link and tell me if helped you or not... although I hope it will...
