Need peace and quiet and my OWN bedroom

Hello, I was wondering if you can help me out. i live in a one bedroom apartment with my two daughters and a puppy. I have been living at this apartment for about 3 years and I would like to fix my apartment but I dont know where to start. We have three small closets and my girls have alot of clothes and shoes and I sleep in th eliving room where my bedroom and living are both in the same room. I would like to have my OWN bedroom and livingroom apart. And I aslo would like to paint and decorate my apartment becasue finding new apartment are very hard to find at a good price for three of us. I also have family member that stay on some weekend and they sleep on an air mattress and I feel they are very uncomfortable sleeping on the floor. So i was wondering if you can help me upgrade my apartment so I can find comfort and peace of mind. Thank you very much, Yvette Reyes Bronx, NY navymout67@yahoo.com

you can get some partisans depending on what you want it can cost but look around you can make ugly into nice and cozy! now I don't live in New york but I know what it can get small. so this is the thing. Get some nice looking futons so your guests will sleep happy and you don't have to put them on the floor. buy some foam for the futon because the bars can be uncomfortable. As for your girls things you can get or make some nice things like you see on Be Jane. shelving. Things you can hang on the door for shoes. look in books and around the net to see what you like have fun!! also pick a color in your living room and go with it. like if you have green go with green and gold. things like that or green and red. if the space is small go with light colors and a mirror on a wall things can look nice if you put some thought into it. Ideas

Get a shoji screen or a curtain divider to close off your "bedroom" from the rest of the living room. Definitely take a closer look at the closets. Get one of those double-hanging rods. Invest in some dressers and shoe-shelves. For the guests, a futon set is a great investment. Spring in for a wooden frame, which is much sturdier, longer-lasting and better-looking than a metal one. Foam disentegrates in less than a few years so I wouldn't recommend it. Paint your walls a neutral color like tan or beige... I find other colors to be too distracting. I always recommend Asian-influenced design for peace of mind and just because it's beautiful. See sugi-store.com for info/ideas. -Design student

A curtain will be a great idea to work as a divider for the living room and your bedroom. With your kids' closets, you can take out the old clothes from their closets and just give them to the streets children or donate them to a foundation. If you this your kids' closets will have enough space for new clothes. Good luck! http://classyclosets.com
