Fixing glass shower doors

New house . Shower doors don't roll properly. I can't figure out how to place the wheels in the roller bar. Also on one of the doors the roller bars keep moving, I don't see a way to adjust it so that they stay in place. I also need a plastic guide to keep the shower door in place. Is that something i can buy?

They vary from brand to brand. You didn't say specifically, but sounds like you've got top-hung doors? If so, these typically mount like a closet door, where the roller sits in a U-shaped track. Sometimes it's necessary to swing the bottom of the door out so the roller can slip in/out of the track at an angle, because of insufficient clearance between the track and the top of the frame. Worst case, you can remove the top track, take it and the doors into the hallway where you've got some room, roll the doors onto the track from the now exposed end of the track, and then reinstall the the whole thing.

As for the plastic guides for the bottom of the doors, you should be able to find these at your local hardware store.

Yes it is a top hung door. I found another big hardware store that did carry wheels and plastic glides. I replaced the wheels and had to fix the plastic glide to fit, with a hack saw. It works fine now. It just needs cleaning off of the hard water spots on the metal. I was planning on trying vinegar when I feel like taking the doors off again. Thanks for your reply.
