Painting painted brick

HELP!! My room is painted with flat white paint. Even the brick fireplace is painted flat white. The hearth is dark gray slate. How can I paint the brick to distinguish is from the walls???

As with anything you apply

As with anything you apply paint to, proper preparation is the key to success. First, scrub the brick with a powdered detergent and a scrub brush. When dry, use a primer specifically formulated for masonry, such as Fine Paints of Europe acrylic Masonry Primer. Call 1-800-332-1556 for more information.
